PHOENIX — It’s that time of year again.
KTAR News 92.3 FM and 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station will team up with Phoenix Children’s Hospital this week for our annual Give-A-Thon.
On Wednesday and Thursday, we will be heading to Phoenix Children’s Hospital near Thomas Road and State Route 51 and will be dedicating our broadcast time to raising money for this amazing facility.
Bonneville’s two stations will simulcast live from the hospital cafeteria from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
This year’s Give-A-Thon, presented by Valley Hyundai Dealers, will aim to raise more than $1 million in 19 hours.
Every dollar raised benefits the patients treated at Phoenix Children’s.
“Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s Hospital is our premier fundraising campaign each year,” Scott Sutherland, the vice president and market manager for Bonneville Phoenix, the owner of KTAR News 92.3 FM and 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
“Through the collective efforts of our employees, our partners and our amazing listening and online audience, we have raised more than $10 million for PCH over the past nine years,” he added.
“To say we are humbled by the generosity of our community would be an understatement.”
The radio personalities that will participate in this year’s event include Jim Sharpe, Jayme West, Bruce St. James, Pamela Hughes, Mac Watson and Larry Gaydos from KTAR News and Doug Franz, Ron Wolfley, Paul Calvisi, Dan Bickley, Vince Marotta, Dave Burns and John Gambadoro from Arizona Sports.
Last year’s event raised more than $1.6 million, breaking a new record.
The money raised goes toward cutting-edge research, clinical programs, state-of-the-art equipment, family-friendly services and providing world-class care to each and every child who needs it.
More than 60 hospital programs are funded either entirely or in part through philanthropic efforts, such as the Give-A-Thon.
We are so proud to champion this cause because it’s one that we hold near and dear to our hearts.
Over the years, we’ve met hundreds of patients whose bravery and hope inspire us to do more, work harder and motivate us to reach as many people as we can with their stories.
Listeners will be invited to become Champions of Hope by making a monthly pledge of $20 or more or a one-time gift of $240 or more.
There are multiple ways you can donate and help spread the message.
You can become a Champion of Hope by calling 602-933-4567 during the Give-A-Thon to make a donation or give your gift online.
