PHOENIX — A man in central Arizona was arrested earlier this week for allegedly holding a woman against her will, beating her up and injecting her with drugs in order to keep her sedated.
The Prescott Valley Police Department said officers were called to a Dewey home around 2:30 p.m. on Monday after a woman claimed she was being held against her will.
The woman, who was not identified, was found to be living in the home with a man she had met on the mobile dating app Tinder.
She said she was living there because she was kicked out of her home.
She told police that once she moved in, the man, identified as 36-year-old Phillip Nelson, “immediately took her phone and would not let her contact family or friends.”
She also said that when she tried to leave, Nelson “physically beat her and began to inject her with heroin and methamphetamine in order to keep her sedated.”
Nelson was later located and arrested by the Chino Valley Police Department, before he was turned over to the Prescott Valley Police Department for processing.
He was transported to the Yavapai County Jail at Camp Verde and charged with multiple felonies, including aggravated assault with deadly weapon, threat causing physical injury, unlawful imprisonmentand possession and use of dangerous drugs.
The Prescott Police Department, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Partners Against Narcotics Task Force and the Chino Valley Police Department also assisted in the arrest.
