Peace Corps chief Williams quitting

WASHINGTON (AP) – Peace Corps Director Aaron Williams is leaving his post after three years as head of the international volunteer agency.
An agency announcement said Williams cited “personal and family considerations” in his letter of resignation to President Barack Obama.
Williams told Obama he believes he’s leaving behind a “stronger and more vibrant” organization.
An international development expert who served with the Peace Corps in the late 1960s, Williams took over the agency in August 2009.
In a letter accepting his resignation, Obama said Williams had reformed and modernized the Peace Corps and “worked tirelessly to improve volunteer support.” Obama called Williams “a champion of the thousands of remarkable Peace Corps volunteers serving across the globe.”
