PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Transportation wants customers to avoid being scammed into paying for test answers or other information and services it provides for free.

So if you are studying for your driver’s license, don’t fall for websites or social media posts attempting to sell test answers.

You can learn everything you need by studying the manual and taking the department’s online practice tests, Motor Vehicle Division spokesperson Doug Nick told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Tuesday.

“If you take the online test at the ADOT website enough times you’ll see just about every question there is to see, so there’s really no point in trying to buy the answers,” he said.

In addition, Nick said, be careful when searching online for information and services offered by the MVD.

“Sometimes people will just do a web search and put in ‘Arizona DMV’ or something similar, and that will usually take you to a copycat website that will try to sell you services that either are free or have a nominal fee that they will add to,” he said.

Nick said customers instead should go directly to the ADOT website or ServiceArizona.com when seeking information.

“One of the more egregious ones that we saw was recently a constituent told us that she had paid $75 for what was really a free service,” he said.

“These copycat web sites are really something to be avoided,” he said.
