PHOENIX — With glowing red rocks and a charming downtown, it’s little surprise that Sedona was picked by Architectural Digest as the prettiest city in Arizona.
The magazine had a simple task: Find a city in each state that takes your breath away, and write about it.
It gave “special love for small towns that are also abundant in culture.”
While there’s some unique culture in Sedona, there’s also a distinct cultural phenomenon. There’s an energy vortex that’s said to be “conducive to healing, mediation and self-exploration,” according to the Visit Sedona website.
It’s not something seen, but something felt.
There are multiple locations to experience this energy in the mountains, most notably Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon.
But that’s not the only thing the magazine likes about Sedona.
“(There) are stunning orange and red boulders and the Old West-like, walkable Main Street District,” Kristine Hansen wrote.
The magazine lists places in the United States including towns with ports, waterfalls and a sunflower farm. Sedona stands out in its own unique way.
