PHOENIX — HonorHealth announced plans to open its sixth hospital in the Valley.

The hospital near Interstate 17 and Dove Valley Road in north Phoenix is set to open in September 2020.

It will be part of the HonorHealth Sonoran Medical Center campus, which opened in December 2013.

“It’s always been our mission to grow with the communities we serve,” Todd LaPorte, CEO of HonorHealth, said.

“As a nonprofit, locally run hospital system, we’re thrilled to take this next step for this vibrant area.”

The hospital will provide 24-hour emergency care, obstetrical and gynecological care – including prenatal and postpartum care – and labor and delivery services. It will also include a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

In addition, the facility will include clinical expertise and state-of-the-art technology in joint replacement surgery, minimally invasive orthopedic and spine surgery, as well as a variety of general surgery procedures, treatments and therapies.

The hospital will open with more than 40 beds, with room for expansion.

“We have a campus that could allow us to grow even larger as the community itself grows,” Laporte said.

HonorHealth is a community healthcare system that operates five acute-care hospitals in the Valley, three in Scottsdale and two in Phoenix.

It was formed by a merger between Scottsdale Healthcare and John C. Lincoln Health Network.
