PHOENIX — No one in Arizona was able to claim the jaw-dropping $522 million Mega Millions jackpot this week, but that does not mean that we didn’t get lucky.
The Arizona Lottery announced that it teamed up with rock-and-roll legend and Phoenix native Alice Cooper to debut an “Alice Cooper Scratchers ticket.”
Top-prize winners can take home $50,000 from the scratcher ticket, while second-chance prizes include VIP tickets and pre-show party access to Alice Cooper’s Annual Christmas Pudding Concert, memorabilia and more.
In an interview with KTAR News 92.3 FM on Wednesday, Cooper said he is very excited for the opportunity.
“It’s big. You know you’ve arrived when you’re on a lottery ticket,” the 70-year-old rock star joked.
“If you’re that or a PEZ dispenser or if you’re the answer on Jeopardy, that means that your name is a household name.”
The ticket is just one of the exciting things Cooper said he has on his plate.
“I’m performing more than ever,” he said. “We did 130 cities last year, 17 countries, five continents. Sold out every show. Then I went out with the Hollywood Vampires and sold out every show in Europe.”
While Cooper will not be performing in the Valley anytime soon, fans can catch his tour at the Palms Casino Resort on Aug. 10 or at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 12.
Alice Cooper fans will be able to purchase the scratchers on Aug. 7.
