PHOENIX — Restrictions on the Interstate 10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will continue into another week, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced.
The eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between 24th Street and Broadway Road from 9 p.m. on Tuesday to 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
Drivers can instead use the eastbound Loop 202 to southbound State Route 143 and eastbound Broadway Road as an alternative route.
The westbound I-10 will also be narrowed to two lanes between Baseline Road and 32nd Street from 9 p.m. on Wednesday to 5 a.m. on Thursday.
To avoid traffic, the department recommends drivers use the northbound Loop 101 or northbound SR 143 to westbound Loop 202 instead.
These closures will allow for routine bridge inspections and freeway maintenance work.
Drivers should allow themselves extra travel time or consider alternate routes while these closures persist.
