PHOENIX — There’s a new way to get from Phoenix to the gambling resort town of Laughlin, Nevada, for a quick trip.

On Thursday, Elite Airways debuted twice-weekly flights between Sky Harbor Airport and Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport.

“We have high expectations for this route, and thank city and airport officials for their support,” John Pearsall, Elite Airways president, said in a news release.

The one-hour flights will depart from Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays. Flights the same days will head from Laughlin to Sky Harbor at 5 p.m.

Laughlin sits on the Colorado River, around 90 miles south of Las Vegas in the southern tip of Nevada.

Fares start at $99 each way, with one free checked bag. Call 877-393-2510 of visit EliteAirways.com for details or to buy tickets.

Elite Airways, which is based in Portland, Maine, operates a fleet of Bombardier CRJ-200 and CRJ-700 airliners. It focuses on routes that connect “underserved communities” with popular destinations.

The airline also plans to add direct flights between Phoenix and Rochester, Minnesota, to its schedule in October. That route was originally scheduled to start Thursday, but it was delayed.

We want to hear from you.
