PHOENIX — A $1 million Arizona lottery prize was still waiting for the winner to stake his or her claim Tuesday, a handful of days after the ticket was bought in Mesa.
The Mega Millions ticket was sold Friday at a convenience store near Southern Avenue and Dobson Road.
Winning tickets have 180 days to be turned in from the date of the drawing.
The numbers drawn were 21, 22, 39, 59, 68 and the Gold Mega Ball was 2; the Megaplier also was 2.
According to the Arizona Lottery website, there was over $170,000 in other unclaimed prizes.
A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was set to expire Aug. 2.
Until the mystery ticketholder turns up, the biggest winner in July has been Ben Rudd of Tucson, who got richer by $500,000 last Thursday playing Arizona Gold.
Unclaimed prize money goes into an unclaimed jackpot fund, a spokeswoman with the lottery office said.
The money then is distributed among a variety of programs.
