Arizona legislator has been stopped multiple times for speeding

PHOENIX — An Arizona lawmaker who was pulled over in the spring for going 40 mph over the posted speed limit on a highway has been warned multiple times for speeding and other traffic violations, according to law enforcement documents.
In addition to driving 97 mph in a 55 mph zone in March, Rep. Paul Mosley (R-Lake Havasu City) has also been stopped for other instances of speeding over a yearlong period, including twice in one day.
During one of the stops, a teenager younger than 16 sat in the front passenger seat not wearing a restraint.
Paperwork from the Arizona Department of Public Safety showed that Mosley has also been stopped in February 2017, twice in April 2017, and twice in April 2018.
He had been going about 81 mph in a 65 mph zone April 5 of this year when he was stopped around 3:15 p.m. on Interstate 10 near Avondale.
About two hours later he was caught speeding on State Route 95, clocked at 88 mph in a 55 mph zone.

A video of Mosley explaining to a deputy why he was speeding during the March stop was posted online last week. He admitted to the La Paz County Sheriff’s deputy that earlier he had been going 120.
In his report, the officer said Mosley told him that he had immunity from citations because he was a government official.
Mosley apologized for the March incident on Facebook last week.
He was elected in 2016 and is running for another two-year term in November.
