PHOENIX — The Interstate 10 will be restricted overnight near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport this week to allow crews to conduct routine bridge inspections and freeway maintenance work.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that sections of the freeway will be restricted on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
The eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between 24th Street and Broadway Road from 9 p.m. on Tuesday to 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
Drivers are encouraged to use the eastbound Loop 202 to southbound State Route 143 and eastbound Broadway Road as an alternative route.
The westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes between Baseline Road and 32nd Street from 9 p.m. on Wednesday to 5 a.m. on Thursday.
In order to avoid potential traffic, drivers can use the northbound Loop 101 or northbound SR 143 to westbound Loop 202 instead.
The department encouraged drivers to allow themselves extra travel time if they plan on driving in the area at the time.
