PHOENIX — An unmarked police truck stolen in a Phoenix suburb this week was located Thursday afternoon, but guns that had been inside the vehicle weren’t recovered.
The Chevy Silverado pickup was recovered in the downtown Phoenix area, authorities said.
It was stolen from the residence of a Department of Public Safety officer near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Glendale on Tuesday morning.
The truck contained police equipment and firearms.
A Glendale police spokeswoman said most of the equipment, including an AR-15 rifle and a 9mm handgun, was missing.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation was ongoing.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Glendale Police at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377). A possible reward of up to $1,000 was being offered.
