PHOENIX — A Phoenix officer was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run after they were crashed into while riding their motorcycle on Monday.
Sgt. Vince Lewis with the Phoenix Police Department said the officer was traveling westbound on Thomas Road near 51st Avenue just before 5 p.m. when a grey or silver car exited a driveway and clipped the officer’s motorcycle.
The officer did fall down, but did not suffer any injuries, Lewis said.
The suspect then fled the scene and the officer tried to chase after them, but with no success.
Lewis said a solid suspect description has not yet been established. The officer involved was also not identified.
The investigation is ongoing. Traffic in the area was not expected to be affected.
