MCSO locates inmate who walked off work site in Glendale

PHOENIX — An inmate who walked away from work detail in Glendale on Thursday has been located and recaptured, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities located Andrew Johnson in the city of Phoenix around 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
He was taken in without incident.
Johnson reportedly walked away from the work detail in the area of 59th and Olive avenues on June 28.
“Inmates on the work detail are selected for this assignment and are classified as low risk and have nonviolent charges,” the office said.
The sheriff’s office worked with local law enforcement to locate Johnson.
