PHOENIX — A no-contract wireless provider cut the ribbon on a call center in a former Sam’s Club location in north Phoenix on Tuesday.
Consumer Cellular plans to add 1,200 employees at the new location over the next three years, including 500 this year.
“Phoenix has been a terrific market for us and we look forward to hiring additional employees to help serve our nearly three million customers,” CEO John Marick said in a news release.
The wireless provider signed a lease for the 164,000-square-foot location at 17500 N. Black Canyon Highway, north of Bell Road, in October 2017.
The renovated facility contains 24 private offices, eight conference rooms and five training rooms.
Consumer Cellular currently employs 1,025 workers at two Tempe locations.
The company focuses on providing cellphone service for baby boomers and seniors and plans to exceed $1 billion in revenue by the end of the year, according to the release.
