PHOENIX — Have you ever had the desire to change up your look through plastic surgery?
Well, you’re not alone.
According to the 2017 Plastic Surgery Statistics Report, there has been an uptick in cosmetic procedures in the U.S.
But it isn’t across the board as factors like weather, culture and technology are at play among the five regions of the country.
For example, people looking for a cosmetic change are far less likely in places like the midwest than in warmer climates like California.
Looking at the rest of the western states — Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah — the study found the top five specific procedures.
Breast augmentations (36 percent), chin augmentations (36 percent), forehead lifts (34 percent), eyelid surgeries (34 percent) and full facelifts (32 percent) were the most prevalent procedures.
Out of all the procedures, nose reshaping (down two percent), laser hair removal (down two percent) and microdermabrasion (down four percent) all saw a decrease from 2016 to 2017, while eyelid surgery saw no change.
