PHOENIX — Drivers in the Phoenix area should count themselves lucky this weekend, as there will be no freeway closures during the June 15 weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that there will be no scheduled closures for construction or maintenance until Monday.
However, that does not mean that drivers should expect smooth sailing this weekend: The department is still warning motorists to be aware of any accidents, slowing or other road conditions.
The department advised drivers to “use caution when approaching and traveling through existing work zones” and reminded them of the state’s “Move Over” law, which requires drivers to move over or slow down when approaching pulled-over vehicles.
