PHOENIX — Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport ranked third in the nation for the best airports when it comes to business travelers, according to a business travel app.

The airport performed well in TravelBank’s rankings due in part to its on-time arrivals.

“Sky Harbor has an 83 percent on-time arrival performance, which is just three percent behind the highest performance overall,” Tiffany Mast, the digital marketing manager with TravelBank, told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“This is really important for business travelers because being on time is at the utmost importance to them.”

In addition to the dependable on-time arrivals, Sky Harbor also has a close proximity to downtown Phoenix, which upped the transit score for traveling business people.

“Phoenix Sky Harbor has public transportation that only costs $2 and only takes 20 minutes to get from downtown to the airport,” Mast added.

“Plus, if you are driving, it’s only a 12 minute drive time from downtown to the airport and it’s an average $12 Uber fare.”

Another factor that contributed to Sky Harbor’s high ranking included its J.D. Power score of 765 – which is almost 20 points higher than the average 746 points.

Reasonable average hotel pricing in the city fell on average of $223, which made it affordable and easy to travel and stay in Phoenix.

Airport parking prices were also taken into consideration for travelers. Both long-term and short-term prices at Sky Harbor were well below average for parking prices.

The overall quality score for Sky Harbor was at the top of the list for providing excellent customer service.

Sky Harbor only placed behind Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, which ranked first and Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which placed second.

“Phoenix’s airport is doing a really great job across the board and consistently ranked in the top five across several of our lists. The only advice would be to keep up the great work,” Mast said.
