PHOENIX — Firefighting crews have completely contained a fire Thursday, a week after a dry lightning storm started the blaze that would go on to burn 4,300 acres near the southeastern Arizona town of Bisbee.
The so-called Judd Fire was 100 percent contained, according to InciWeb.
The blaze first started on June 7. A mixture of dry vegetation, including scrub oak, tall grasses and brush fueled the fire, causing it to spread.
A total of 163 firefighters were assigned to the fire, including multiple hand crews, engines and aviation resources.
Additional single air tankers and helicopters were ordered to help the ground crews’ efforts, according to InciWeb.
