PHOENIX — Instead of giving out the 2018 lineup all at once, the Arizona State Fair is spreading out its concert series announcements throughout the summer.
The first three acts were announced last week, and they represented a little bit of something for everybody.
Southern rockers .38 Special, whose string of hits in 1980s included “Hold On Loosely” and “Caught Up in You,” will take the Veterans Memorial Coliseum stage on Oct. 10.
The next night, The Wallflowers are up. The band fronted by Jakob Dylan, Bob’s son, first made a splash in the ’90s with the No. 1 hit “One Headlight.”
The fair will wrap up with family-centric performances of “Sesame Street Live! C is for Celebration” on Oct. 27 and 28.
The 2018 fair runs Oct. 5-28 at the fairgrounds at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road, with concerts each day at the venerable Coliseum.
General admission concert series seating is free with admission to the fair, but tickets for reserved seats can be purchased for an additional fee.
Tickets for .38 Special and The Wallflowers go on sale Saturday, and the Sesame Street tickets will be made available on June 15.
