PHOENIX — With help from labor group AFL-CIO and a law directing companies to disclose the “pay ratios” comparing CEO and employee salary, Time Money published a map of the highest-paying company in every state.
In Arizona, the company is part of the health industry.
The 239 employees of Accelerate Diagnostics, a company that develops technology for quicker lab results and improved outcomes, receive a median salary of $164,738 per year.
That’s around the middle of all states, coming in at No. 29 overall.
It’s one of 17 companies on the list to pay their employees between $100,000 and $200,000.
New Jersey’s NRG Yield pays a whopping median salary of $964,000, though it’s unclear how many employees it houses.
VirnetX Holding Court of Nevada, which develops security technology for the Department of Homeland Security, pays its 21 employees an average salary of $562,062.
California’s Geron Corporation falls in right behind that at $500,000 for its 15 employees.
While VirnetX and Geron employ very few, many companies on the list have 1,000 to 3,000 workers.
Time notes that there are 13,000 workers averaging $124,050 at Entergy in Louisiana, and in Rhode Island, 37,000 work at Textron for a salary of $90,025.
All industries were in fields of energy, real estate, health, financial or tech.
If you’re looking for a new job in one of those areas, don’t be afraid to use this as a suggestion.
