PHOENIX — A workplace messaging app company could be bringing its second headquarters to the Valley.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, San Francisco-based Slack Technologies is looking for its next location for its latest headquarters.
Phoenix joins Denver, Austin and Portland as the top cities considered for the expansion.
“That said, Arizona’s talent, pro-business environment, affordable costs and high quality of life continue to attract global leaders to our market – as demonstrated by recent headquarters projects in Arizona including Benchmark Electronics, Kudelski Group, Rogers Corp., Caterpillar and Prenexus Health,” spokeswoman for the Arizona Commerce Authority Susan Marie told the Phoenix Business Journal in an email.
“In addition, the continued expansions of JDA Software, McKesson, ZipRecruiter, Houzz, Weebly, Upgrade, Shutterfly and others in Arizona are further evidence of our state’s attractiveness to top tech companies.”
While the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade has reportedly offered more than $10 million in tax incentives, it was unknown if Phoenix is considering a similar deal.
Slack, which was founded in 2009, leased its current and only headquarters in San Francisco in 2017.
