Watch 3 ex-presidents talk about John McCain in trailer for HBO movie

PHOENIX — HBO has posted a trailer for its upcoming movie about the career of Sen. John McCain of Arizona and his ongoing battle with brain cancer.
The documentary, called “John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls,” will debut on the premium cable channel on May 28, Memorial Day, at 5 p.m. Arizona time.
The clip shows former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama talking about McCain, who was diagnosed with a rare form a brain cancer last year.
Soon after the diagnosis, the six-term senator agreed to take part in the HBO movie project.
The documentary’s airing will cap a big media week for McCain. Tuesday is the release date for his memoir, “The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes Great Fights, and Other Appreciations.”
On Friday, McCain tweeted thanks to family, friends and colleagues, including fellow senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and Chuck Schumer, who went to a screening of the movie.

McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma in July 2017. He underwent surgery for a brain tumor, and another was found a few months later.
The 81-year-old has been away from Washington D.C. since December.
The typical survival period after a glioblastoma diagnosis is 12 to 15 months, though a small percentage live longer than five years.
