Officials looking for bear in suburban Phoenix neighborhood

PHOENIX — Wildlife officials have a bear of a problem on their hands — literally.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department posted a video on its Facebook page of a bear roaming around a Mesa neighborhood on Wednesday.
The department said it received reports of a bear spotted at a Mesa country club the day before.
The bear appears to be juvenile, has not shown any aggression and seems to be steering clear of people.
However, the department said it had crews searching the area for the bear and have not spotted it on Thursday.
“The bear appears to have gone back to safety in the wild, but we’re still searching to make sure,” the department said on its Facebook page.
But officials are cautioning the public against approaching the animal.
They are asking for anyone to report any first-hand sightings to the department’s Radio Room at 623-236-7201.
