PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was cancelled Wednesday after a Scottsdale man suffering from Alzheimer’s and other medical complications was found safe in California.
Donald Stombres, 75, was last seen Tuesday morning. His wife said he had been at their home near 78th Street and Aster Drive before driving away in a gray Dodge Ram.
Stombres was found in Burbank, California, after he ran out of gas and was blocking traffic.
It was unclear why he was in California.
Stombres was found in healthy condition and will be reunited with his family.
He recently suffered a stroke and requires daily medication.
Stombres has gray hair and blue eyes and was wearing a yellow baseball cap, a shirt, blue jeans and dark shoes.
