PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation urged people traveling to the west Valley on Tuesday to plan for heavier traffic.
With singer Taylor Swift performing at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, ADOT expected heavier traffic, telling motorists to budget for enough travel time and get on the road earlier if they can.
Motorists planning on taking the Interstate 10 west should consider taking Loop 101 west and south from Interstate 17 in the north Valley as alternatives.
The stadium’s parking lot opens at 3 p.m., with the show scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
To help ease the traffic woes, ADOT will be utilizing its network of freeway signs to provide traffic updates in the areas approaching Glendale and the stadium.
Other information on street traffic can be found at the Glendale Police Department’s Twitter page.
Motorists can also visit ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site, its Twitter page or call 511 for additional information.
