“This was a brutal attack,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said, describing a horrific assault on a woman that happened March 21, 2018.

Around midnight, the suspect pulled up to the victim in the area of 32nd and Roosevelt streets and offered her a ride.

Rothschild said, “She accepted the ride and he drove her to 34th Street and Van Buren and violently assaulted her.”

The suspect was driving a black or dark colored late-model Volkswagen four-door that had chrome rims.

“He didn’t really take anything,” Rothschild said, “but he got in. At one point during the burglary he even took his shirt off and is walking around carrying an item, probably a fire extinguisher.”

Surveillance-footage photos of the suspect were of better-than-average quality.
