Phoenix firefighters rescue 40-year-old woman from house fire

PHOENIX – Phoenix firefighters have rescued a 40-year-old woman who was trapped inside her burning home.

According to a release, the Phoenix Fire Department was called to a home near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix with reports of flames coming from the roof and a person screaming inside.

Once on scene, firefighters grabbed airpacks and a thermal imaging camera to locate the victim inside.

Once found, crews carried the victim out of the burning home where she was treated by medical crews before being transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition.

Additional fire crews arrived on scene and extinguished the fire before it spread to nearby homes.

No firefighters were injured in the blaze, which is currently under investigation.
