The Amazon Echo is cool, but it’s much cooler when fire is involved

Apr 5, 2018, 4:01 AM

You know that Amazon Echo gift you got from your grandparents for Christmas that you still haven’t opened? You might want to bust that out after watching this video.

YouTuber Colin Furze took viewers through the process of turning an Alexa personal assistant into an Alexa personal flamethrower.

This included using an old fire extinguisher as the gas chamber, rigging it to plumbing equipment and setting up an ignition system. He also recruited a friend and fellow YouTuber to help code the system to trigger the fire.

The specifics on coding smart home devices can be found in a video on his channel.

At the end of the video you can hear Furze tell Alexa to give him fire, before a burst of flames shot out of the bottom of his contraption.

The video was posted last week and has already received over 600,000 views.

Furze’s YouTube channel is filled with other wild videos, including building a homemade hoverbike and the world’s fastest bumper car.

Furze has 5.77 million subscribers and his videos have received more than 640 million views.

“This channel is the home of crazy inventions, brilliant world records and constant disregard to health and safety,” he wrote in the channel description.
