Utah couple gives birth to quintuplets at Phoenix hospital

PHOENIX — A Utah mother has given birth to quintuplets at a Phoenix hospital this week, it was announced Thursday.
Jamie Scott and her husband Skyler welcomed five babies at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix on Wednesday, according to a press release.
The couple had documented their journey on their Facebook page titled “Five Two Love: Scott Family Quintuplets.”
The babies were born on Wednesday between 1:27am and 1:28am and weighed between 2 pounds and 2 pounds, nine ounces.
According to a Facebook post, the babies were named Logan, Lily, Violet, Daisy and Lincoln.
They were born at 29 weeks.
The babies were born to John Elliott, MD, the medical director of Valley Perinatal Services and the Elliott Center for Multiples.
The latest post on the page read, “Heading into to the NICU so our boys can meet the babies…Photos to come!”
Jamie had spent seven weeks on hospitalized bedrest before giving birth via C-section.
A GoFundMe page launched by Amanda, the couple’s sister-in-law, detailed their struggles with fertility.
The couple already has two boys, 12-year-old Shayden and 7-year-old Landon, but said they had been trying to have another baby for the past five years.
“When they realized they would need some extra help, they sought out a fertility specialist who administered intra-uterine insemination with the help of fertility drugs.
“On the second round of treatment, they were thrilled to find out they were expecting.
“Jamie has faced a challenging, high-risk pregnancy and has endured it all with astounding grace. Skyler is facing the new reality of being a provider for five more children and the big undertaking that it will be to care for these babies. In early January, they revealed that they are expecting 3 baby girls and 2 baby boys — exactly what they were hoping for!”
The couple moved from St. George, Utah to Phoenix to be closer to Elliot. The page said the couple had “sought out every means of sustaining themselves financially” during their pregnancy.
“They’ve done all in their power to sustain themselves financially throughout this quintuplet journey so far and have now exhausted their resources, so let’s flood this family with love and support during their time of need!”
The page had raised more than $24,000 of its $75,000 goal as of Thursday.
