PHOENIX – An accident closed freeway lanes in the suburbs east of Phoenix early Thursday morning.
The two-car collision shut down Loop 202 westbound lanes at Priest Drive in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The closure, in place by around 5:15 a.m. and originally expected to last through the morning commute, was lifted by 6:40 a.m.
But an hour before that, traffic was already backed up to Scottsdale Road.
Big backup on L-202 westbound because of a crash-related closure at Priest. You'll need to use an alternate route this morning. Consider US 60 and I-10. #PhxTraffic pic.twitter.com/YJ60MUD9t1
