PHOENIX — If you are in Phoenix, put down your phone, close the computer, turn off the TV, step outside and embrace the cold.

Sunday could be the last day Phoenix sees a high temperature below 70 degrees — until November.

Sunday’s high temperature, according to the National Weather Service, was a balmy 67 degrees.

Other Phoenix-area cities, like Scottsdale and Tempe, also had highs that were in the mid-60s.

But Yuma, a southern Arizona city, had a high temperature of 70 degrees on Sunday.

According to The Weather Channel, this is Phoenix’s forecast for the upcoming week:

• Monday: High of 74 degrees and partially cloudy

• Tuesday: High of 81 degrees and sunny

• Wednesday: High of 86 degrees and mostly sunny

• Thursday: High of 84 degrees and PM showers

• Friday: High of 78 degrees and sunny

• Saturday: High of 79 degrees and mostly sunny

• Sunday:  High of 78 degrees and mostly sunny

Phoenix is well-known for its hot summers, which typically feature high temperatures that are in the triple digits.

The average number of 100-plus degree days that Phoenix has is 50. The warmest temperature ever recorded in Phoenix was 122 degrees on June 26, 1990, according to South West Weather
