PHOENIX — Whether you are Irish or not, this weekend will be a lucky one.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that there will be no scheduled closures for construction or maintenance work along Phoenix-area freeways during St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
But that does not mean there would not be any closures or restrictions due to accidents or other types of motorist issues.
However, the department was warning motorists to be aware of existing work-zone restrictions, which will remain in place during the holiday weekend, and allow for extra travel time.
Officials were also warning drivers to be aware of the state’s “Move Over” law, which requires drivers to move over at least one lane or slow down when approaching vehicles with flashing lights that are pulled over.
Real-time highway conditions can be followed on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site, by calling 511 and on ADOT’s Twitter.
