PHOENIX — If you’re vegan or vegetarian and looking for a new place to go out to eat, check out the Green Restaurant in Phoenix and Tempe which was ranked the best in the state.

The list, created by Travel and Leisure, praised the Arizona restaurant’s ability to make traditional American foods in a style that satisfies vegans who are craving a little bit of meat.

The restaurant, located near Scottsdale and McKellips roads in Tempe and Seventh Street and McDowell Road in Phoenix, puts a vegan spin on American comfort foods something it calls “new American vegetarian.”

The menu consists of foods like buffalo wings, po’ boys, burgers, cheesesteaks and much more. The restaurant uses meat substitutes, such as the wheat-based seitan or mock chicken for all their dishes.

And if you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth after the meal, you can always head to their partner, Nami.

Nami, a vegan ice cream parlor, is located right next to Green’s Phoenix location. Along with its famous ice cream, Nami serves vegan pastries, coffee and breakfast items.

On its website, Green said that its restaurant is meant for everybody, not just vegans or vegetarians.

“Chef Damon [Brasch] hopes to open the hearts and minds of meat eaters everywhere,” the site reads.

We want to hear from you.
