Cindy McCain posts photo with husband Sen. John McCain
PHOENIX — Cindy McCain posted a photo on Instagram with her husband, 81-year-old Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), enjoying a sunny day in Sedona on Saturday.
Senator McCain has been battling glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, since announcing the diagnosis in July.
In December, McCain returned to Arizona to seek treatment for his condition and has been recovering in Cornville since.
Although no official update has been issued out by his office, photos from his wife Cindy and his daughter Meghan McCain have given citizens a glimpse into his recovery.
Sen. McCain and his wife Cindy were also featured in a post with Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald in February.
Updates from his daughter Meghan, a host on the TV show “The View” have revealed some insight into how the 81-year-old senator is recovering.
Part of the reason why McCain has spent more time recovering in Arizona has been due to the severe viral flu season that has hit the Washington D.C. area.
Sen. McCain’s return to Arizona in December was partly due to a viral infection along with the side effects from regular chemotherapy treatments.
The risk of another virus, along with the beautiful Arizona scenery, it appears, has been enough reason for the senator to remain in his home state for the time being.
