PHOENIX — If you wanted to witness the Cavalia Odysseo show up close and personal, there is still time: The company announced it would extend shows for another week.
“Due to ongoing demand from residents and visitors alike, we have added a new week of performances to our run in Scottsdale,” the company’s website read.
“We will be performing under the White Big Top near Red Mountain 202 at McClintock Drive through March 26.”
The show was originally set to end on March 18. For those who want to purchase tickets, they will run you anywhere between $39.50 and $159.50, not including fees.
Performances are held Wednesday through Sunday, with showtimes ranging from 1:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Cavalia Odysseo is described as a “a revolution in live performance” that blends “awe-inspiring equestrian arts with imaginative stagecraft, amazing acrobatic feats and cutting-edge technical effects.”
More than 110 artists and horses are at the head of the $30 million production.
Cavalia was created in 2003 by Normand Latourelle under the name of “Voltige.” The company held its first show in Shawinigan, Quebec.
Odysseo launched in 2011 as a show that depicts “horses and humans leaving together to meet a world between dream and reality by traveling through the great wonders that nature has offered, deserts, waterfalls, canyons and glaciers.”
The performances are held under a tent called the Big Top, a 26,909-square-foot tent that can hold nearly 3,000 people. It is the largest touring tent in the world.
