PHOENIX — Illusionist and magician David Blaine will be coming to Arizona in May for the beginning of his 2018 North American tour.
The event will be on May 27 at the Mesa Arts Center. Tickets will be available to the general public on March 2 at noon on LiveNation.com.
Blaine began his career when he performed on-air street magic recording the reactions to his tricks.
The magician has also done a number of highly-publicized endurance tricks including his “buried alive” stunt when he spent seven days buried in a plexiglas coffin underneath a three-ton water tank with no food and little water. The trick was open to the public and he had more than 75,000 visitors.
Tricks like these, as well as his TV show, propelled Blaine into the national spotlight where he achieved widespread critical acclaim.
Blaine went on to perform for some of the world’s biggest celebrities including David Beckham, Kanye West, Will Smith and many more.
You can see one of his more recent tricks in a YouTube video posted to ABC’s channel. He was seen performing what was described as the “frog trick” for comedian Dave Chappelle, musician Drake and NBA stars Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler.
The 36-date tour officially kicks off on May 6 in San Diego.
