PHOENIX – The Prescott Valley Police Department announced Friday that a 16-year-old male has been arrested for disruptive language.

According to a release, the juvenile was arrested at Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Valley after he made disruptive comments while riding on a school bus with other students.

The statements made by the student were reported to school and police officials, who launched an investigation into the nature of the comments.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of the male, who was then transported to Yavapai County Juvenile Detention where he was booked on two class one misdemeanors.

Officials did not release the comments made by the student, but the investigation led them to believe that it was threatening or out of the ordinary in some way.

In light of the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. that claimed the lives of 17 individuals, the Prescott Valley Police Department said that every incident involving threatening or intimidating language would be investigated.

“Those who have reported the numerous threats this week have been doing the right thing,” Chief of Police Bryan Jarrell said in the release.

Police are encouraging residents in the Humboldt School District to report any suspicious or out of the ordinary activity and threatening statements to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

We want to hear from you.
