PHOENIX — Two Scottsdale resorts have been added to Triple-A’s list of four diamond hotels and restaurants.
The Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa and Mountain Shadows were the two new Arizona establishments, bringing the total number of four- and five-diamond hotels to 70 in the state.
“The fact Arizona is so well represented on this list each year is a testament to not only the quality of our hotels and resorts, but to the beauty of our state,” said Debbie Johnson, director of the Arizona Office of Tourism.
The two resorts have an array of amenities available for guests.
Both locations offer multiple large pools as a nice escape from the Arizona heat. Mountain Shadows has two 75-foot pools with a modern waterfall fixture while Andaz Resort has three outdoor pools with a turquoise pool bar.
The Scottsdale resorts give guests access to a number of local sites and activities including Camelback Mountain, cycling trails and a number of golf clubs.
The two resorts also offer guests large indoor and outdoor areas for groups, conferences and special events.
They also both have spas, fitness centers and on-site restaurants and bars.
Triple-A started their diamond rating system in 1976. Inspectors who assign these ratings have wide range of hospital including former hotel managers.
Mountain Shadows is located on Lincoln Drive and Tatum Boulevard. Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa is located on Scottsdale Road between Lincoln and McDonald drives.
