Police find 3-year-old girl who was reported missing by mother

PHOENIX — The Tempe Police Department said it has found a 3-year-old girl who was reported missing by her mother on Thursday.
According to Sgt. Lily Duran, the girl was reported missing around 2:45 p.m. She was only identified as Lily.
The department announced around 4:15 p.m. that she was found safely.

Duran said Lily’s mother was under the influence and believed that she had Lily in her custody, but the girl had been staying with her grandparents for the last couple of days.
The mother, who was not identified, is not expected to face charges but Duran said social services will be following up with the family.
