PHOENIX — Music icon Elton John is hitting the road one last time in his career and his massive tour will make a stop in the Phoenix area early next year.
John will play at Gila River Arena near the Loop 101 and Glendale Road on Jan. 26, 2019 as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
“Performing live fuels me and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe,” John said. “I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour.”
Fans can sign up to access a presale through Ticketmaster. Tickets will be made available to the general public on Feb. 2.
Ticket prices started at $44.75 and went as high as $219.75, though that did not include taxes and fees. VIP tickets will also be sold.
John said he was leaving the road for good to spend more time with family.
“It’s time to come off the road so I can fully embrace the next important chapter of my life,” he said in a video message to fans.
But for those worried about missing out on John’s final curtain call, don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of time to catch him, as his tour was expected to continue well into 2021.
He’s also playing several shows relatively close to Phoenix next year: John will be in Los Angeles Jan. 22-23, San Diego on Jan. 29 and Denver on Feb. 7.
