Godavari South Indian restaurant chain opens first Arizona location

PHOENIX — Godavari, a South Indian-style chain restaurant, opened its first Arizona restaurant in Phoenix this week.
The restaurant, located on Thunderbird Road and 19th Avenue, offers a wide variety of dishes and includes a vegetarian section.
Godavari opened its first restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah and have been expanding ever since. It has locations from Rhode Island to California.
According to their Facebook page, the new restaurant experienced a large number of customers on its first day.
“We are thankful to our staff and Phoenix people for making the grand opening huge success,” the post read.
The new owners of the Phoenix restaurant, Murali Jampani and Sam Mendu, spoke with Greatandhra.com about being a part of Godavari.
“We are really amazed and privileged to join the ‘team’ to serve Phoenix with this concept,” they said. “We would honestly do our best to serve the community here and we are sure that Godavari Phoenix will be the best South Indian restaurant in Arizona.”
