PHOENIX — Moviegoers in Mesa will now be able to recline in comfort inside a completely renovated theater when catching the latest blockbuster on the silver screen.
AMC Theaters said Tuesday that it had completed all work inside the AMC Superstition East 12 theater, located near Baseline and Signal Butte roads.
In addition to the aforementioned power recliners, each auditorium has been equipped with IMAX technology that makes the movie look and sound more realistic.
The IMAX technology was put into use just before the holiday season, but crews finished the remainder of the renovations on Friday.
People who buy tickets online will be able to pick their seats ahead of time and use a ticketless entry point, meaning they can bypass the box office altogether.
Once they’re inside, moviegoers will be able to order food from the theater’s upgraded menu. New items included pretzel bites, stone-fired flatbread pizzas and some gluten-free options.
The theater also has a full bar for patrons who are over 21.
