PHOENIX — If you’ve ever thought about purchasing your favorite booth at a Macayo’s restaurant, it’s time to pull out the ol’ credit card.
The Mexican restaurant chain has posted a slew of items that will go up for auction in Phoenix, Casa Grande and Tucson.
A majority of the items on the block won’t be of much use to the average Joe — unless he or she owns a restaurant — but some of them were pretty nifty.
We weren’t joking that you may be able to buy your favorite booth and, if you’re in the market for some colorful tables or chairs, you’ve hit the jackpot.
You can also own some of the restaurant’s signage, including several 6-foot signs that light up, or some of the handmade animals that were part of the eatery’s decor.
The chain previously sold off a ton of items from its former location on Central Avenue and Camelback Road as it prepped for a move just down the street to a smaller location with more patio space.
This time, however, the Macayo’s locations in Tucson and Casa Grande are closing. The auction for the Casa Grande location will close on Jan. 31, while the auction in Tucson will close on Feb. 6.
Macayo’s was recognized by PureWow.com as the most iconic restaurant in the state of Arizona. It has been open for more than 70 years and has nine locations in Arizona and two in Las Vegas.
