Lockdown lifted on Peoria buildings after ‘suspicious’ package found

PHOENIX — A lockdown was lifted from several buildings in a northwest Phoenix suburb after a package found in a nearby parking garage was deemed not suspicious.
The Peoria City Hall, public library and Development and Community Services building were all put on lockdown around 3 p.m.
The lockdown was lifted around 3:20 p.m. after a suspicious package that was found in one of the city hall parking garages was said to be safe, according to the Peoria Police Department.

Roadways around city hall were restricted and people were asked to avoid the area, but it has once again been reopened.
