Body of missing elderly man found in West Valley canal

PHOENIX – The body of a previously reported missing elderly man has been found, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
According to the release, 79-year-old Larry Foote was reported missing late Sunday night by his significant other after he left their West Valley home on his bicycle and did not return when expected.
A native of Colorado, Foote spends two months out of the year in the Valley, according to the release.
According to the release, Foote had blindness in his left eye, but had no other major medical conditions.
His body was discovered in a dry canal near the area of RH Johnson Boulevard and 132nd Avenue in Sun City West on Monday evening.
According to officials, it appeared that Foote had fallen off of his bike and into the canal. At this time there is no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
