PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks will host its sixth annual D-backs Race Against Cancer on March 31 with the proceeds going toward the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.

The 5K and 1-mile walk will travel through the streets of downtown Phoenix, ending in a victory lap around the outfield wall of Chase Field.

Registration for the race opened last week. Registration costs $40 for the 5K and $20 for the 1-mile with prices increasing by $10 after March 23. Children under 12 can participate for only $5.

There will be no registration available on the day of the race.

The 5K race will start at 7:15 a.m. and the 1-mile walk will start at 8:30 a.m. at Chase Field, near Third and Jefferson streets.

Each participant will receive an exclusive D-backs race shirt, a drawstring bag, a finisher medal and a ticket to a D-backs game.

Developed to be a voice for all D-backs fans that have been affected by cancer, the proceeds the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation receives will be distributed to Arizona non-profits that provide cancer screening, treatment and support to caner patients. Participants will be encouraged to visit the health and wellness expo to learn more about cancer support.

The Race Against Cancer is being presented by University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital.

We want to hear from you.
