Take a deep breath: 2017 is nearly over.
It seemed like this day would never come, but you’ve almost reached the finish line on the seemingly never-ending year.
And make no mistake, there was a lot that happened this year.
From the swearing-in of President Donald Trump, to the breakthrough of the #MeToo movement, to the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas, to the criminal conviction and later pardon of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, it seemed like every single day was filled with a new, revolutionary turn of events.
To close out the year, the hosts, reporters and anchors from KTAR News 92.3 FM took some time to talk about what they thought the biggest or most influential news stories of the year were.
Arizona’s Morning News host Jim Sharpe tipped his hat to the Silence Breakers, otherwise known as the ever-growing group of people who came forward this year to talk about sexual harassment and those who have abused them.
On the other hand, reporter Corbin Carson said President Donald Trump was single-handedly the biggest news story this year, due to the fact that his name was often linked to most other news stories throughout the year.
And anchor Becky Lynn said her biggest news story of the year was North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and his mission to amp up his nuclear warhead inventory.
What do you think was the biggest news story of 2017?
