PHOENIX– A burst of light lit up the Phoenix area sky on Friday night.
So what was it? SpaceX.com confirmed that the light came from its Falcon 9 rocket launch in California around 6:30 p.m. local time.
Plenty of sightings from residents from the west to the East Valley saw the burst of light, which traveled from east to west and briefly lit up the night sky.
Strange lights over Phoenix – west side of town right now.

SpaceX announced it would launch out of Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The launch was its 18th and final mission of the year.
The light caused speculation from witnesses in the Valley, as it surprised those still questioning the mysterious lights that lit up the night sky in Queen Creek on Monday.
News 92.3 FM’s Dr. Sky reported he saw the burst as he was driving southbound in Scottsdale on Friday night.
“…What’s totally amazing is we conclude you are looking at an object from 375 miles away,” he said.
